FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What age group is the intended audience

There is no intended age. Every child progresses at different rates on different topics. We have had adults sit in on our white boarding sessions and walk away with "I learned something!".  That said... these are not deep courses in anything. This is about understanding things at a high level, building a foundation, seeing the big picture. Ever wonder how a heat pump air conditioner made cold air? there is a video that explains it in 20 minutes without a lot of technical jargon. Want to learn how to repair that air conditioner? That's not here... not at that depth.

2. Why are some videos poor quality?

We are not professionals. Dont expect professional quality videos. This is literally setting a webcam up in the corner and recording our own sessions. The sessions are part of our school, not a separate production. They are recorded live, no editing. We invite you to join us in this way, experience the phone ringing, the turkeys yelping, small children running through, the stuff of life. The experience in these videos is just as if you were sitting at our table with us.

3. Do you have transcripts

No, these videos are not scripted, it is an impromptu, totally on the fly answering of a question "Daddy, how does..." . There is no script, no plan, nothing formal at all. Learning is part of the minutes of life,  We have been passing what we know to our children, and these videos offer it to your family in the exact same way.

4. Is there a schedule of upcoming topics?

No, at least not now. This is on demand, literally following the interests of our own children in real time.

5. Are these videos religiously based?

Not really, but sometimes. We are a christian family and as such recognize that every aspect of life involves some aspect of our creator.  But, not every aspect of life is a religious lesson.  When talking about how to measure electricity, there may be a mention of  why the creator would make this aspect a certain way, but not a theological lesson.  In summary, we do not exclude God from any aspect of life, but not every aspect warrants a sunday school lesson.

6. Can you do a video answering....

Probably... send us an email with your question and we'll see!
